We can do a range of treatments with our Class 4 laser. Laser skin tightening for the face is a very popular treatment that we do this helps to combat wrinkles and lines. We can also treat Pigmentation, sun damage, vascular treatments such as facial and leg veins, spider veins, broken capillaries, BENIGN PIGMENTED LESIONS such as Cherry Angioma (risen red dots), vascular lesions and certain types of Rosacea. We can also treat warts, Onycomycosis -nail fungus treatment and Pseudofolliculitis Barbae (razor bumps).

With our laser we have a seperate cooling arm attached to make you feel comfortable by soothing and protecting the skin. The treatment is virtually pain-free, although everyone feels things differently. To target vascular we do need to get quite a bit of heat in to the area to cauterise the bloody supply this treatment will feel hotter.

The treatment uses advanced cooling systems that soothe and protect the skin by simultaneously cooling the skin throughout the treatment – meaning far less pain and big-time gain with the added benefit of fewer treatments typically needed compared to other laser systems.

The Elite IQ is the newest machine available; it is FDA approved and is a Class 4 medical grade laser made in the USA by Cynosure. The laser has a built in Skintel melanin reader to make sure we are treating you at the correct settings. Meaning faster and fewer treatments compared to other lasers out there. At the moment this is only 1 of 2 of these lasers in NZ.

We can safely treat all skin types 1-3. But when it comes to Facial rejuvenation and vascular work we can treat up to a skin type 4.

You will start to see results in 1-2 treatments. These need to be 4 weeks apart.

We do recommend maintenance every year or two. For pigmentation and benign lesions it really doesn’t make a difference with how well each individual clients looks after and protects their skin after treatment. Think of it as a second chance for your skin.

With the vascular treatments, everyones body is very different. The same area we have treated may come back at some stage but will not necessarily be the same vein as before but could be a new one in the area.

Every time you have an appointment you will need to fill out a returning client form. This is to make sure nothing has changed medically with you. We will then let you get comfortable on the bed. The treatment area will be cleansed and treated. Please note we can not leave the room as we are using a medical grade laser which will be turned on, but we will give you privacy. You will be required to wear the laser safety glasses

We will cover this at the time of your skin consultation depending what we are treating.

Please do not get sunburnt or use fake tan 2 weeks prior to your appointment. If you are in the sun we would ask you to use an SPF50. If you are sunburnt we will not be able to do your treatment and will rebook you for 4 weeks time. Please do not use Vitamin A or strong leave on exfoliants for a minimum of 24hours before your appointment. If using a topical vitamin A cream you must not use this for 14days prior to your appointment. These things can cause adverse reactions to your laser treatment.

Your therapist will go over this with you and you will also be emailed an aftercare form at your first appointment.

You don’t want to add extra heat to the area treated; so for 24hours no exercise or getting really hot.

No chlorine or swimming for 48hours to avoid bacterial infections to the area. This includes Spa’s and Sauna’s.

No sun exposure or fake tan for 2 weeks. We ask you use SPF 50 and regularly top it up. For skin treatments we recommend continually using a good SPF sunscreen to prevent new damage.

The area treated may be a bit pink and puffy looking, it will also feel hot. This is a normal reaction as we have used heat to treat the area. You can apply Aloe gel or post laser gel to cool the area. With most of the laser skin treatments we do want to keep as much heat as is comfortable for you in the skin as this is how the treatment works.
